Parkview Lofts is the adaptive re-use and historic restoration of the former Albert Pick & Co. Building located at 2159 W Pershing Rd into 120 modern loft-style apartments as long-term affordable housing for area residents earning 40-80% of area median income. Prior to redevelopment, this 180,000 square foot concrete, brick, and terra cotta building sat vacant for the past 12 years in deterioration and disrepair, contributing to area blight. Now, the project represents a catalyst of over $40M in investment to the neighborhood—which is positioned to attract additional investment, development, and retailers.
Located directly across from the McKinley Park recreation area, the building will undergo a complete interior reconfiguration into modern loft-style units while retaining key aspects of the buildings’ historic heritage. In addition to the one, two, and three-bedroom loft apartments, Parkview Lofts will offer secured indoor parking for 39 cars, community event spaces, exercise facilities, and an on-site staffed management office. Outdoor amenities will include a private, landscaped courtyard and a sheltered drop-off alcove for resident access. Additionally,
the project is designated as a transit-oriented development (TOD) being serviced by nearby bus routes and is also within a 15-minute walk of a CTA rail station.
