Project

2555 North Clark Street

FitzGerald worked with building ownership to develop a comprehensive interior and exterior renovation plan for the 171-unit residential high rise at 2555 North Clark Street in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood. Originally built in 1985, the floor plans and finishes reflected that era and were in need of an update to complete with the new, Class A apartments in the marketplace. The twenty-story building, which contains apartments in studio, one-, and two-bedroom formats, includes 7,000 square feet of retail space and secure parking for residents.

FitzGerald’s team crafted plans for unit overhauls, including reconfigured kitchens and all new finishes, which could be executed either in large groups of units or individually according to turnover. FitzGerald also redesigned the building’s underused lobby lounge into a fashionable, comfortable place for residents and guests. Improvements on the ground floor also included a new concierge desk, mail alcove, elevator lobby, and management office.

Outside the building, FitzGerald’s scope included designs for street-level façade improvements and a renovated rooftop amenity with social spaces, grill stations, and fire pit.
