Adam Berkelhamer, AIA has joined FitzGerald as an Associate Principal. Adam is based in the Denver area and will become FitzGerald’s local presence as the firm expands to focus on the Denver/Boulder markets, as well as serving as boots-on-the-ground for the firm’s multifamily and senior living projects in Phoenix, San Francisco Bay Area, and Dallas.
Adam has worked for over 25 years domestically and internationally on award-winning projects ranging from the largest roof structure in Europe (Liege-Guillemins TGV) to Class A residential developments in Chicago and Phoenix (30 West Oak, SoNo East, Domus). He has explored multifamily design from large complexes of co-living apartments to high-end single-family residences. Most recently, Adam was the leader of his own practice based in the San Francisco Bay area, where he designed multifamily properties at all scales and collaborated with FitzGerald and other firms. Prior to founding his own design company, he was associated with architecture firms including Santiago Calatrava, HOK, and Booth Hansen.

As a member of our team, he will lead the firm’s growth in Colorado, and bolster our reach to the Southwest United States, California, and Texas.”
Adam received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Architecture from the University of Michigan. He is a member of the AIA and ULI Colorado, is NCARB Certified, and is a Licensed Architect in Colorado, Florida, Illinois, and Michigan.
