FitzGerald is pleased to announce that earlier this month, Michael L. Breclaw, AIA, LEED AP became an equity partner of FitzGerald and was named the firm’s newest Principal.

Mike joins partners Patrick FitzGerald, Michael DeRouin CSI CCCA, Richard Whitney, Timothy Blatner, CSI, CDT, LEED AP, James A. Broughton, AIA, and Steven D. “We’re exceedingly pleased with and energized by Mike Breclaw’s presence at FitzGerald,” said Mike DeRouin, president of FitzGerald. “Mike has contributed on many levels since joining us. He has led the design of several new senior housing projects in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Maryland; provided project management to an affordable housing renovation in DeKalb; and introduced us to a variety of urban mixed-use projects.”

“He has positively impacted all of the projects that he has engaged with and has the curiosity and courage to lead us toward new innovations in our work. Mike’s passion for quality architecture and a productive work environment has been invigorating. We’re all very pleased that Mike is our partner and we look forward to continued growth at FitzGerald.”

In his new role, Mike will join the firm’s other Principals in the maintenance and enhancement of industry relationships and will collaborate with the group to guide future marketing efforts.

The current partnership represents the seventh generation of ownership in the firm’s 98-year history, beginning with Maurice Rissman and Leo Hirschfeld in 1919.
