FitzGerald Provides Interiors for Renovation of Warren Barr Gold Coast Physical Therapy Unit

FitzGerald has provided client Legacy Healthcare with interior design services to completely renovate the 9th floor Physical Therapy unit in the Warren Barr Gold Coast rehabilitation and skilled nursing center (pictured left) in Chicago’s Gold Coast. Improvements will include new and reconfigured treatment areas, administrative spaces, and washrooms.

This is the latest commission in an ongoing relationship between FitzGerald and Legacy Healthcare, and the second at the Warren Barr facility. FitzGerald also provided an updated building entry and lobby, a new entry canopy, and a reoriented entrance to the building at 66 West Oak Street.

FitzGerald Selected by Shaw Company for Homan Square Phase VI

FitzGerald was chosen by The Shaw Company to provide architectural services for Phase VI of the Homan Square development in North Lawndale. The phase includes eight new two-story buildings that will contain a total of 52 rental townhomes and flats, and 58 surface and private garage parking spaces. The buildings are positioned on four separate parcels around Boler Park; two buildings at Arthington & Central Park, and two on Lawndale avenue. The townhomes will range from 700-1450 square feet in one-, two-, and three-bedroom offerings.

This is the latest commission in an ongoing relationship between FitzGerald, The Shaw Company and the Foundation for Homan Square, with FitzGerald providing planning and architectural services on more than 175 apartments, townhomes, and single-family homes in Phases III, IV, and V. Once home to the five million square foot historic headquarters complex for Sears, Roebuck & Company built in 1905, the area was challenged with the departure of Sears and other corporations. Now, in large part because of the success of Homan Square and its relationship with the City and community, redevelopment has been going strong in the area for over 20 years, the result of which is a revitalized mixed-income community.
