FitzGerald is providing architectural and interior design services on three renovations of supportive living and rehabilitation facilities for Legacy Healthcare: Avantara of Long Grove (60,000 square feet, 120 rooms), The Grove of Aurora (60,000 square feet, 98 rooms), and The Orchard of Aurora (70,000 square feet, 140 rooms). At the three properties, FitzGerald has been tasked with developing facade improvements and new canopies (even a striking new entryway at The Grove) to update the buildings’ dated appearances.
Inside all three facilities, lobbies and public spaces, patient rooms, nurses’ stations, and physical therapy centers will be renovated and modernized with a goal to achieve a hospitality ambiance. At Avantara and The Grove, physical therapy suites will be renovated and expanded to provide generous and unified spaces for visiting patients and residents. The commissions are the latest in an ongoing relationship between FitzGerald and Legacy Healthcare, with FitzGerald also designing the adaptive reuse of a 140,000 square foot industrial and office building for Legacy Healthcare’s new corporate headquarters.
