Members of FitzGerald’s staff have been busy this year running races, biking to work, and hitting the softball diamond!
On May 23, 2013, ten members of FitzGerald’s staff, from all levels and departments, joined thousands of other Chicagoans at the Chase Corporate Challenge 5k. The group was FitzGerald’s largest entry to date, and included Robbie Brundige, David Monhait, Rachel Groff, Scott Shaw, Kathy Graham, Evan Watson, Charles Courtney, Matt Wiedenman, Richard Kasemsarn, and Hugo Alvarez. Personal bests were attained, and great time was had by all.
Last week, five people from FitzGerald—Becca Waterloo, Erik Leahy, Steve McFadden, Charles Courtney, and Hak Kim—participated in the 2013 Bike Commuter Challenge, riding their bikes from Bucktown, Lakeview, University Village, and the South Loop to the office during the week of June 8-14. Combining their rides, they biked 150 miles that week, burned nearly 8,000 calories, saved 7 gallons of fuel, and avoided the creation of 58 pounds of Greenhouse gas.
FitzGerald has also partnered with The Illinois Housing Council, Ascend Real Estate Group, and STR Architects to field a team in the Lincoln Park Architecture and Design Firm 16” Softball League, a casual coed inter-office league where architects and designers from across the city square off each Wednesday and Thursday night at the South Fields at Lincoln Park from June through August.
