FitzGerald has begun work on Palos Place, a three-story mixed-use building that will include retail, office, and residential uses in downtown Palos Heights for Brigid Captal.
The 34,000 square foot building is slated to revitalize an underutilized portion of the busy Harlem corridor, and is expected to serve as an anchor for future redevelopment. The building will include 10,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor, 9,700 square feet of subdivided office spaces on the second floor, and six one- and two-bedroom apartments on the top floor. Apartments will range from 850 to 1100 square feet, and each will include a private terrace and basement storage area.
Parking for the site will be accommodated with 12 street parking spaces along Harlem Avenue, 30 spaces in a surface lot, and another 52 vehicles in a new parking lot across 72nd Court from the building, which is being reconfigured from a residential use.
The developer is targeting national retailers and restaurants and the project has been approved by the City of Palos Heights. Construction is anticipated to begin in this Fall.
