Firm President Michael De Rouin, CSI, CCCA and Chief Operating Officer Steve Wasilowski took part in two programs at the APA’s National Planning Conference held this week in Chicago.
Mike De Rouin’s program, Improving Site Plan Review, focused on a range of case studies that explore how a development team can overcome the design shortcomings of conventional site plan reviews to implement a proactive site plan review process for improving overall development quality. He presented alongside Jeffrey Brady, the Director of Planning for the Village of Glenview, and William James, Principal Consultant for planning practice Camiros, Ltd.
Steve Wasilowski participated in a roundtable discussion led by Debra Rogers, Senior International Trade Specialist with the U.S. Department of Commerce. The group discussed how professional planners and designers and their firms, large and small, can benefit from the Department of Commerce’s programs to exchange ideas and expand their work abroad. Steve represented FitzGerald as a participant in the Department’s programs, bringing reflections from the firm’s business development initiatives in China and the United Arab Emirates.
