FitzGerald continues to grow its talented staff with the addition of Architects Hugo Alvarez and Nathan Anderson; Staff Architects Britt Herman, Erik Leahy, and Evan Watson; and Administrative Assistant Linda Deitelhoff.
Architect Hugo Alvarez comes to FitzGerald from bKL Architecture, where he acted as a Revit Coordinator on several of the firm’s significant high-rise residential towers including Coast at Lakeshore East and Wolf Point West Tower. Prior to bKL, he worked with the Trainor Glass Company and with Skidmore, Owings & Merrill on notable projects such as Moscow’s Plot 16. He earned his Bachelor of Architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
Architect Nathan Anderson brings significant experience to FitzGerald, with five years of large scale commercial, mixed-use and residential experience with firms including RTKL and JPRA Architects, as well as a freelance architect working on several major office and retail buildouts. He also spent three years with Garrett Popcorn Shops providing in-house retail store design and graphic design services. He earned his B.S. in Architecture from Lawrence Technical University.
Britt Herman was most recently an interior designer with deshun wang design workshop working on high-end residential and retail build-outs and projects with dwdw’s branding & product development team. She earned her B.F.A. in Interior Design from the University of Kansas, and will bring her expertise to several of FitzGerald’s project teams as the firm continues to develop its growing interiors department.
Erik Leahy joins FitzGerald as a Staff Architect. He comes to us from Omaha, Nebraska where he worked for BCDM Architects, B2lab Architects and ATOM Design Studio with significant focus on Revit and physical model fabrication. He also worked on the Postfossil Kindergarten at the University of Göttingen with German firm Despang Architekten. He earned both his Bachelor of Science in Design and Master of Architecture from University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
Evan Watson rejoins FitzGerald as a Staff Architect after spending time as a multi-media and drafting instructor with Chicago Public Schools and as a freelance designer and architect. Prior to that, Evan spent two years as an Intern Architect at FitzGerald. Evan received his Bachelor of Architecture from Tuskegee University and his Master of Architecture from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Evan spends his free time helping inner city youth achieve personal and professional goals through his church.
In addition to architectural staff, FitzGerald’s administrative team has also expanded with the addition of Linda Deitelhoff, the firm’s capable and experienced receptionist and administrative assistant. Before joining the FitzGerald team, Linda spent twelve years at Latham & Watkins LLP as a Legal Secretary and six years at Skidmore, Owings and Merrill in administrative capacities.
