Construction Underway at CA23 Phase II, Residents Move In at Parkside of Old Town Building Six

Construction is underway on the second phase of CA23, located on a through-block site at 15-23 North Aberdeen and 16-20 North Carpenter Streets in Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood. The second phase will be nearly identical to the development’s first phase, which was completed in 2010. The building will contain 24 for-sale condominiums in a five-story building that includes parking for 26 vehicles. Altogether, the combined phases will contain 48 condominiums and parking for 52 vehicles—133,000 square feet combined.
Also this month, the first residents have taken occupancy of their units at 544 West Oak Street, the latest building to be constructed at the Parkside of Old Town mixed-income community in Chicago’s Old Town neighborhood. The building, which continues the motif initiated in the project’s earlier phases, stands eight stories tall and includes 106 apartments and six ground-floor duplexes offered at CHA, Affordable, and Market-Rate price points. The land plan for the building continues the overall site goals of green space paths connecting the site’s buildings together and to the surrounding neighborhood, as well as a brand new playground. This phase continues the sustainable features found elsewhere on the site, including a green roof, permeable pavers and eco-conscious materials and finishes.
