Woodfield Corners Named The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) by Suburban Chicago BOMA

Woodfield Corners, a 170,000 square foot Class A commercial building renovated by Crossroads Development in Schaumburg, Illinois was named The 2011 Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) in the Renovated Building category by the Suburban Chicago Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA).
Mike Cody of FitzGerald Associates was retained by Crossroads Development in concert with CB Richard Ellis to provide full architectural services on the renovation of the 1970s era office building, which was renovated from Class C to Class A with lobby improvements, common area upgrades, and a lower-level public café. The building is now home to several world-class corporate tenants.
FitzGerald Associates was also responsible for leasing plans, space plans, schematics, contract documents, and contract administration for twelve tenant build-outs in the building. Cody worked closely with organizations including US Robotics, Texas Instruments, Ericsson, and Hostmark Hospitality to develop distinctive space plans that accommodated each organization’s unique needs while provide a world-class building appearance.
Prior to its rejuvenation, the building was struggling with less than 15% occupancy. Within 24 months of the completed redevelopment from Class C to Class A, the building established over 90% occupancy.
