FitzGerald Associates Architects and Hitchcock Design Group Selected for Cermak Creative Arts District

A team led by FitzGerald Associates Architects and Hitchcock Design Group was selected from 32 teams to perform the first phase of planning for the formation of a Creative Industry District centered on the Cermak Road Historic Bridge District. The initial phase includes the preparation of guidelines for physical planning; preservation planning and urban design; production of a streetscape master plan; and determination of specific adaptive reuse objectives.
The selection committee included staff from the Chicago Departments of Housing & Economic Development, Cultural Affairs & Special Events, Transportation and the Chicago Office of Tourism & Culture.
The FitzGerald|Hitchcock team is supported by JGMA (Moreno Architects), Vinci Hamp Architects, Primera, Industrial Council of Nearwest Chicago, Fulton Street Collective, Goodman Williams Group, Camins Tomasz Kritt and Artspace.
