Construction and tenant relocation work is complete at the newly renovated offices of theIndustrial Council of Nearwest Chicago. The 6,800 square foot facility features executive offices, meeting and education rooms, and a large and adaptable space that is suitable for large training sessions, meetings or receptions. FitzGerald employed the most current Building Information Modeling techniques to present the client with a 3D rendered vision of their offices before construction even began (inset left) -a technique that yielded great satisfaction from the client and ensured that all parties had a clear image of the new design.
The office is located on the ground floor of a loft-type mill and warehouse building fronting the major arterial of North Damen Avenue on Chicago’s Near West Side. The site is a familiar one to FitzGerald Associates; the firm has been completing various adaptation and renovation projects within the Kinzie industrial complex since the late 1980s with the original adaptation of the Wolff Brothers Plumbing Works, a landmark industrial facility that anchored the corridor and dates back to the late 19th Century.
The Industrial Council of Nearwest Chicago is a non-profit organization that provides advocacy in governmental policy, incubator space and job training for new and emerging businesses in the area.
