Metro Place is the redevelopment of a large parcel of previously-neglected warehouse district in Chicago\’s West Side. The project reintroduced the lost street grid to the area, facilitating easier transportation throughout the site as well as reconnecting to the surrounding residential and commercial sections of the neighborhood. The development\’s lot widths and streetscapes incorporate elements of traditional Chicago vernacular, with six-flats located near single family homes. Two distinctive elevations and several color palettes lend a varied but cohesive appearance to the streetscape. Within the single family homes, an affordable component includes two distinct floor plans with many owner-customizable options available.
