Utilizing an extensive knowledge in the adaptive reuse of urban structures, FitzGerald Associates Architects renovated the 1920’s era brick and terra cotta flatiron-style building at Milwaukee and Central Park Avenues into a mixed-use structure that features updated loft-style apartments and high-end commercial spaces.
Formerly used as retail space and a dance hall, the firm worked with the community to preserve the building and bring back the street-level retail, though some of the building was demolished to provide parking and a bank drive-through. Many years of alterations were removed to bring back the original design character of the building, which was made to include a meeting room available to the community for evening and weekend assemblies.
